Continuous Improvement and quality go hand in hand in Pattonair. Within our business and for our customers, we continually strive to reduce waste and costs, use lean activity and utilise our experienced team to build relationships and confidence throughout the supply chain.
We are proud to have expert and passionate employees that are dedicated to offering continuous improvement. Please see our examples of how we use Continuous Improvement techniques to improve our business for our customers.
Example 1
Ann Young, Business Improvement Manager at Woking has completed The Manufacturing Institute’s Lean Manufacturing Fellowship. Although this is an academic challenge in itself, working with a team of functional experts, Ann used the course to transform Pattonair’s stock control system. Ann explains: “Although Pattonair’s stock control system was good, we realised that if we made some improvements we could become World Class. In addition to our in-house process improvements, we felt that working with our customers on their methods of forecasting demand would help to improve the situation. This would also improve the service we received from our suppliers, thus improving overall supply chain performance.”

Example 2
As part of Pattonair’s commitment to training and continuous improvement, in May 2010, 22 employees from all areas of the business started their NVQ Level 2 BIT (Business Improvement Techniques) training. They attended three days of training before applying their knowledge to make improvements in Goods Inwards and Kitting. They were assessed throughout their projects and had to complete a portfolio of questions which will help them to gain their certificates. We are proud to be able to support our employees and their achievements.
