Pattonair won the Specialist Category award for ‘Lean Process’ at the prestigious Midlands Excellence Awards Ceremony in Birmingham on the 8th March 2012.
We submitted our entry for this year’s awards based on the success of Project LBL. The two round process entailed a comprehensive desktop evaluation where the assessors looked for an outline of the rationale, approaches, use of resources, evaluation and evidence of success. The second round consisted of presenting to an independent panel of judges.
There were a number of serious contenders that we were up against including Jaguar Land Rover joining forces with DHL for their joint submission. However, the judges stated they were impressed with the degree of team involvement during the project which was a key differentiator from our competition. Two times Gold Medal Olympian rower, Steve Williams and BMW Plant Director, Nick Spencer, presented the award to Tracy Dalton and Adam Cooper (as seen on the front page). They recognised Pattonair as an organisation that goes ‘above and beyond’ in our everyday operations to achieve excellence. Project LBL has now received the highest recognition internally, from our customer and now an independent external body.
Many thanks to everyone who were a part of the step change in Operations. Since the go-live in Nov 2010, there have been many other outstanding achievements across all departments in Pattonair – let’s make sure we recognise this through the Excellence Awards.
